The Center for Community Emergence and Regeneration (CCER) is an independent research platform exploring how communities regenerate life, coherence, and meaning in times of systemic disruption.

Grounded in complexity science, regenerative systems thinking, and lived experience, CCER connects researchers, practitioners, and local movements who seek to understand not just what changes, but how life itself organizes toward renewal.

Our work spans diverse fields, from education and wellbeing to ecology and social transformation, always guided by the question of how communities generate coherence and renewal within complex systems.

Through transdisciplinary research, field mapping, and emergent design, CCER develops new methods to see communities as living systems, dynamic, relational, and continuously adapting.

We invite you to explore our research frameworks, global partnerships, and open-access knowledge base, and to join us in shaping a science that restores what connects us.

Research Areas

Regenerative Systems Science

We study how living systems restore coherence and balance after disruption.

Community-Centered Mental Health

We explore mental health as a collective property that arises from belonging and care.

Education and Emergent Learning

We investigate learning as a living process that evolves through curiosity and connection.

Societal Transformation and Governance

We examine how institutions can shift from control to collaboration and trust.

Ecology, Place, and Regeneration

We study how social and ecological systems co-evolve toward renewal.

Methods and Frameworks for Complexity

We design and test new tools to sense, map, and strengthen community emergence.
