Research

The Center for Community Emergence and Regeneration (CCER) is an independent research platform exploring how communities regenerate life, coherence, and meaning in times of systemic disruption.

Grounded in complexity science, regenerative systems thinking, and lived experience, CCER connects researchers, practitioners, and local movements across fields: from education and wellbeing to ecology and political economy. Our diagnostic framework, viability geometrics, examines how institutional and financial architectures enable or constrain community-led renewal, with empirical roots in youth-led practice in the Netherlands and emerging collaborations in Europe and the United States.

Through transdisciplinary inquiry, field mapping, and emergent design, we develop frameworks that approach communities as living systems: dynamic, relational, and continuously adapting.

We invite you to explore our research and to join us in building a science that takes communities seriously as sites of knowledge, resilience, and renewal.
